CG5K - Specialist Coating DIY Application
The Product DIY Instructions Photos
Preparation of receiving surfaces
All surfaces - must be clean, dry and free from all
contaminants including oil, grease and fats. Any mildew,
algae, fungicide or mould must be removed and surfaces treated with
an approved fungicidal wash. In the case of fat, oil etc.,
remove with a biodegradable cleaner. For petroleum based
products, use a solvent cleaner. In all cases, surfaces must
be thoroughly washed with clean water after treatment.
Tiled surfaces - proceed as above, making certain that
all grouting is completely clear of mildew etc.
Existing paintwork - this product may be applied over
most paints, provided they are cured or aged. Where white of
light colours are applied over dark existing surfaces, it may be
necessary to apply a second top coat.
Plaster/rendering - Highly porous surfaces may reduce
coverage rate. Again, application of white or light colours on
to dark plaster/rendering may necessitate a second top coat.
Mixing Instructions
Prime coat - one part base: one part reactor by volume. The
base and the reactor must be thoroughly and independently
mixes before bringing together. Transfer contents of reactor
container into larger container and mix thoroughly for at least
five minutes. Allow the mixed components to stand for five
minutes before applying by brush or roller.
Top coat - three parts base: one part reactor. In the case of
both elements, the most suitable method of mixing is to empty the
contents of the reactor tin (after thorough stirring) into the base
tin (again, after thorough stirring) followed by further thorough
stirring of the combined contents.
